With regards to

and unbundling MTS DSL and MTS voice services, I successfully proved 
today that there is absolutely no need for a voice line, other than 
perhaps setting the account up because of their weird billing system. I 
cancelled my voice line a week ago, and today I figured I'd try to see 
if my DSL modem would still sync up. It did, so I plugged it into my 
powerbook, and successfully logged onto the internet.
