[*] Interesting VoIP results with Shaw

As part of some work I was doing for a client I had the opportunity to
answer the question "how many simultaneous VOIP calls can a Shaw
connection handle at one time?"

The answer surprised me.

I was able to sustain 13 calls using g711u with almost no audio drop
out. Approximating g711 at 65Kb/s, this means I was getting about
845Kb/s upstream.

It should be noted that the connection was completely idle otherwise.

Obviously if we put some compression on it could go much higher.
