[RndTbl] SteamVR on linux??

Has anyone any knowledge of running SteamVR games on Linux?  I've read
some stuff on Steam itself that says you can't run VR games on Steamdeck
or Linux.  But I've found some other sites saying you can, though maybe in
a beta mode.

So who's right?

Half Life "3" (Alyx) is out (and on sale right now!) but I really only
have a Linux game-capable rig now.

Also does SteamVR mean you *must* have VR gear to play?  Or can you play
it on a normal monitor setup?
